Northwood Team
PETER SCHIFF Managing Partner & Founder
Peter founded Northwood Ventures in 1983 after working in private equity at Warburg Pincus and in the corporate division of what is now JPMorgan Chase. As founder, Peter set the high standards of integrity and collaboration that define Northwood’s relationships with portfolio companies and investment partners. He has served on the boards of dozens of Northwood portfolio companies and seen many transactions through to successful outcomes for all participants.
Peter’s ability as advisor is in demand beyond Northwood. He was until recently a trustee of Hofstra University, where he served as Vice Chairman and a member of the Board of Overseers for the Zucker School of Medicine and remains a member of the university’s Investment Committee. Peter was awarded an honorary degree of Doctor of Laws by Lake Forest College after long service as a trustee and chairman of its board. And he has served as an advisor and board member for numerous regional and community organizations.
Peter has three grown children and lives primarily in Florida with his wife. He enjoys fly fishing, bird hunting, golf, travel and family time, especially with his 11 grandchildren.
